I have been a customer of Columbia Bank for about 10 years now. I first started my account as a single woman and I was married a few years ago. Only recently (about 5 or 6 mos ago) have I added my husband to my checking account -just my checking account. Yet not once, but twice, employees of this branch have disclosed to my husband the balances of my personal savings account- an account he has never been a signer on. I never even told him I had this account. He was first made aware of this account in august or September, I denied it...(Due to his past drug abuse issues, I set up this account to make sure my kids and myself could be able to take care of ourselves for a month or two if those issues started up again,) Now, there's no way I could deny it. He knew my balance down to the penny and even asked me why it was less than the last time he checked it. I called and spoke with Ruth(?) who identified herself as the assistant manager. Of course, she said she would speak to the girl (I had the receipt with the teller info), but I feel like nothing is really going to be done. This bank failed to do their job by keeping my banking confidential. What about their privacy policies? I am seriously thinking about ending my account here.
