Garden Elementary School is a coeducational institution that features a library media center, cafeteria, sports field, auditorium, administrative offices, music and art suites, and literacy and science laboratories. It maintains various school groups and teams, including a student council, safety patrol and parent-teacher organization. Garden Elementary School supports an after-school reading tutoring program, which is sponsored by the YMCA. In addition, the school organizes the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, Reading Counts, Renaissance and accelerated reader programs. Garden Elementary School teaches more than 635 students in kindergarten through grade five. It is a part of Sarasota County Schools and is located in Venice, Fla.
