Well, I have officially made my last trip to this Regis. Last Sunday, I received the worst hairdo I have had in decades. I could've cut it better myself. I could've done crystal meth and then cut it better. I could have worn a blindfold and cut it better. It looks like a bad chemo wig or like I'm some crazed fan of Paul McCartney trying to recreate the moptop look (only it's more like moptop meets Florence Henderson from The Brady Bunch). I specified that I was growing my hair out and only wanted a little off the length. I pointed out photos of the length I'm aspiring to and showed a photo of what I had before, then showed two different photos of what I was thinking could be the "in between" stage. My hair looks nowhere near anything discussed. She chopped so much off it's going to take a year to grow out, despite confirming with me that she knew I didn't want a lot cut off. The cut is horrible. It's so out of proportion for my face shape/size that it looks like I'm wearing a 7 year old's wig. I should have told her how mortified I was when paying, but I knew the hair was gone and there was nothing I could do. I did utter something about looking like one of the Beatles, though. Frankly, I'd like a refund for paying for what I didn't get and now probably needing extensions, which I've never wanted, but which might be the only way to salvage this mess. Why anyone thinks a person with a round face should have layers that chop that hair back to nearly behind the ears so their head can look larger is beyond me. I was nearly in tears by the time I got to my car. By the time I got home, I was desperately trying anything to make it look more feminine. I can't even pull it up in a ponytail to hide it or pull it up in any way without a container of bobby pins and a ton of hair spray. I didn't sleep right all week and am actually going back tomorrow to demand a refund to put toward the hair extensions that I can ill afford, but now desperately require. My hair grows slowly and I had hoped, by the end of summer, it would be back at shoulder length. The way she layered it, it is nearly all about 2-3 inches long on the sides and about 4-5 inches long ON TOP, except for a tiny sprig a the base of my neck that barely reaches my shoulders. It's like a hair mushroom. WTF? That's another thing. I found myself using the "f" word about forty times since I left the salon. I never swear. THAT is how angry I am. They used to have a few decent hairdressers there. The last two times I had passable stylists and this time, a different one and a total disaster. NEVER AGAIN! When a women says she is growing her hair out, pay attention! And do NOT turn the customer away from the mirror so they can't stop you before you destroy their hair by cutting it wrong. I miss Robbie, Mari, Mary Elizabeth...the good stylists of Regis past. I haven't seen any of them there in ages, unfortunately.
