Provided by YP.comLane Video Productions was the videographer at our wedding. Steve Lane, the owner of Lane Video Productions was the videographer. My mother passed away about a year prior to our wedding and the main reason we wanted to have a videographer was to capture the reception speeches, particularly my dad’s (the father of the bride). Mr. Lane sent us the video of our wedding and we were thrilled to watch it only to find that a portion of my father’s speech was missing (something Mr. Lane failed to mention). The portion of my father’s speech that was cut out was when he was describing the moment that my then-fiance asked my mother and father for my hand in marriage. This part of the speech was when my mother was in the hospital, the last night that we had with her. When we inquired into the missing footage, Mr. Lane nonchalantly indicated that he had run out of tape. Payment for the videographer services was required up front before our wedding and when we requested a partial refund (half), Mr. Lane offered instead to record my father’s words and place photos in place of the missing video. We did not remotely consider this a “concession” as the final video would be my father’s speech pieced together and not a video of our wedding. The emotions, images and feelings can never truly be captured from that moment at our wedding. Throughout our correspondence after our wedding, Mr. Lane changed his story and indicated that the battery actually ran out and that equipment malfunctions and doesn’t do what we expect it to do. We further expressed our disappointment with Mr. Lane’s services and he indicated that he would no longer record my father’s words and place it onto the video but would instead send us $100 of our significant investment which he thought was reasonable. Mr. Lane’s response and rationalization as to why a part-refund would not be provided was completely illogical - We paid for a service at the agreed upon amount and the service was not provided. In the end, Mr. Lane never sent us the $100 and we ended up paying full price for deplorable customer service and an incomplete product. We were and are extremely disappointed and upset by Lane Video Production’s response, our experience, the unfortunate circumstances, and the end result. There is no way that we can get my father’s words, description of that day, or our emotions in that moment back. I was and am still heartbroken over not being able to capture such a monumental moment in our lives. We would never recommend this company to anyone. Awful experience - I only gave it 1 star because yellow pages required me to do so.
