Established in 1877, Vernon High School is a part of Vernon Independent School District. The school enrolls more than 650 students in grade nine through 12. The student-teacher ratio of the school is 14-to-1. Its curriculum includes English, math, science, economics, history, management, social studies and physical education. The school offers a variety of sports programs, such as tennis, basketball, baseball, golf, softball track and field and weight lifting. At the end of the academic year, the school organizes award ceremonies and banquets. Awards are given to the students who excel in academics, music and sports.
