My personal experience with Doug Fields and his law firm was a nightmare. He acted as a litigator on a case in which a Birmingham woman (Fields' former therapist) accused her ex-husband of trying to poison her---two years after the marriage ended. Rather than encourage his client to go to the police, he encouraged her to sue him in civil court. Two years and tens of thousands of dollars later, Fields and his client offered to settle for a pittance rather than go to court. The case was a sham and it wreaked havoc on the defendant's life and finances for years. Doug Fields, for all of his yogi-this and groovy-that, is little more than a money-hungry litigator who wouldn't think twice about destroying an innocent man in his pursuit of "justice." The upside? If you are in a position to sue somebody for allegedly trying to kill you and want to bypass the criminal courts and go straight to civil court, Doug Fields is your man.
