The Community Services Department of the city of Victorville, Calif., plans and conducts a wide range of recreational programs and activities. The department is also responsible for the design, maintenance and repair of all city-owned buildings and facilities. The city s recreation-specific facilities include more than 15 parks, several golf courses golf courses, swimming pools and multipurpose buildings. The department is a division of the city government. The city of Victorville was incorporated in 1962 and employs a staff of more than 320 people. Victorville is home to 77,000-plus residents. It serves as the hub of business in the Victor Valley area of California, which is also the location of the communities of Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia, Lucerne Valley, Oak Hills, Phelan and Wrightwood.
