I brought two of my clocks to the Clock Shop of Vienna for repair back in March 2015. Today, June 15, 2017, I brought in two clocks that needed repair and three others that needed new batteries. On both occasions, the work performed on my clocks was nothing short of exceptional! The family who owns and operates the Clock Shop of Vienna are all truly extraordinary clock experts and their repair work is "Second to None." They are the "Very Best of the Best!" We are indeed fortunate that we have the family members of the Clock Shop of Vienna repair our treasured clocks and of course we are also able to purchase any of their very fine selection of clocks.
I want to extend my very special thanks and appreciation to all the family of the Clock Shop of Vienna --I wish you all continued great success for many years to come!

Donny Sobel is one of the fine...

Donny Sobel is one of the finest craftsman we've ever had the great fortune to discover. He spent an hour with my wife and me today, talking with us as if he had known us all our lives. Our "married" antique 1890's vintage Vienna regulator stopped five years ago, and all our efforts at home over these past years to set it running failed. We brought it into the shop on a busy Saturday. On the spot, in the showroom, he disassembled our clock, described carefully the problem he found, and took us with him into his workshop to watch him polish and realign the escapement's pallets. Back in the showroom he reassembled the clock, hung it on the wall, and set it to running. He very carefully explained how it must properly hang on the wall at home. Had we known how easy it was to identify and fix the problem, and how reasonable the cost was, we would have done this five years ago. What a delight to have our very sentimental treasure going again after these years of silence. We do not hesitate to recommend them for clock repair or restoration.

I have been very impressed wit...

I have been very impressed with the expertise and professionalism of the Clock Shop of Vienna. I have been there many times and always been treated with courtesy and respect. Donny, Gail and Judy offer each customer their undivided attention until the issue with their clock has been diagnosed and an estimate of repair/restoration cost given. Unlike many shops, I've even heard them recommend to a customer that a clock not be repaired because of the cost involved or the likelihood that the repair would not result in the clock performing well. The standard of work performed by the shop is the highest I know of on the East Coast for repair or restoration of quality clocks. I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a shop to repair/restore their clock.

The Clock Shop in Church Stree...

The Clock Shop in Church Streeet in Vienna offers exceptional clock repair service, particular for valuable old and antique clocks, based on the interest, experience, and craftmanship of the store owner. I have taken three old clocks to the store, and my experience has always been exceptional, with respect to the analysis of the issues involved, timing, cost and requirements to resolve the issues. My experience is that the clocks when returned home have operated perfectly. After three failed attempts to have a "Howard" banjo clock repaired in New Jersey and Maine, I have brought it to the Clock Shop for repair. I recently brought an 1840's bracket clock that I bought in London last year and which had stopped running recently; the Store Owner took the mechanism apart, analyzed the problem, and resolved it while I waited, explaining the situation and issues as he worked on them, which I greatly appreciated. Such craftmanship is becoming increasingly hard to find these days.

I write this review just about...

I write this review just about an hour the Vienna Clock Shop proprietor, Donny Sobel, left my home after having thoroughly and fastidiously cleaned and lubricated the workings of our prized grandfather hall clock, the winding mechanism had begun to squeak after too many years maintenance inattention. Since we live in Winchester, it was over an hour's trip for him one way. Since I wanted to learn to do the maintenance myself in order save some expense the next time, the fellow not only allowed me to watch him work, but encouraged it. I asked numerous questions while he worked, and all were answered carefully and courteously. It was a joy to watch a person with his experience and skill refurbish one of our prized possessions. He has our highest respect for the work he does.

Donny is very rude and condesc...

Donny is very rude and condescending. He belittles your family heirlooms and refuses to fix them. He has done so on two separate occassions, once to me with my grandmother's clock and again to my wife with an old clock she wanted fixed. She went there even after I warned her, thinking maybe Donny was just having a bad day. He made her cry he was so mean to her. He says he only works on quality clocks (but sells the everso upscale Felix wagging-eye model). The biggest jerk I have run across. They will get NONE of my business I promise. He has quite an opinion of himself and now so do I. He is an pompous narcissist. I wish zero starts were an option. The man deserves to have this business fail in my opinion.
