Provided by YP.comI shop at this store at least 2 or three times a week. There is a super Walmart right down the street, but it is always such a hassle to park and wait in line there, unless I need something they sell at WM only, I go to Ingles.
Ingles is open till 11:00 pm, and if I go after 9:00 there is no long wait and no parking hassle. Almost all of the people who work there are incredibly nice and helpful and they act like they really appreciate a regular customer. I like the Laura Lynn store brands and their fresh fruit selection is great. They have a good deli with hot food daily and a good bakery. The store is always clean, including the bathrooms (easily accessible at the front of the store).
Ingle's prices are fair. They consistently have good sales and it is worth scanning their weekly sale flyer to stock up on items, especially frozen dinners. Some of the dinners I like are about $1.00 less at WM, but again, if I can find something at Ingles I would much rather go there. WM tends to run out of items and nobody can tell you when or if they will be back in stock. There was a problem with that issue at Ingles for a little while but now they have a new person stocking the frozen foods and that issue has gotten much better. If they are out of something on sale they will order it, tell you when it will be in and give you a rain check.
One thing I love at Ingles is the fact that all of the paperback books (new bestsellers) are 25% off and all of the greeting cards at 40% off. They even have a special rack of beautiful glossy cards for all occassions that are always 99 cents, cards that you would pay at least $4 or $5 for at other stores.
The few times I have gotten things I couldn't eat - like fresh watermelon cubed in containers - the manager graciously accepted the return (just be sure to have the receipt) and offered an exchange or refund.
Bottom line, I do almost all of my grocery shopping there, as well as buying household items when they are on sale (or Laura Lynn brands that have good prices), and I have been going there for eleven years. The people who work there are always friendly, fast and efficient, capable of carrying on a nice conversation without slowing down. I always leave with a smile.
When I first moved to Villa Rica there was a Winn Dixie in the shopping center just a block from Ingles, almost next door. It changed to another name, something like Budget Foods, then was taken over by Piggly Wiggly (yes we still have Piggly Wigglys in the south...). The store finally closed for good and is still empty. It has been at least 5 years. I was concerned that the Walmart would take over and that Ingles would close too, but they have thrived due to all the reasons I stated above.
I would highly recommend this store to anybody who wants to get their groceries in a pleasant, clean and friendly environment, and who doesn't mind paying a few dollars more in the total - which would probably be how much it would cost in gas to go further down the road to get to Walmart anyway. I go to WM maybe once a month, and I go to Ingles 2 or 3 times a week.
