United Insurance Services, Inc was founded in 1968 by the merger of Citizens Insurance, Inc founded in 1903 and Selby and Acker, Inc founded in 1952. From our beginning in Vincennes, Indiana, we have enjoyed a steady growth over the years and have become recognized as one of the leading agencies in the area. We have earned our reputation for professionalism through the special attention we give to the needs, requirements, and details of our clients. Another long established insurance agency, Welsh and Theriac, Inc was merged into United Insurance Services in 1977, following the death of Mr. Theriac and the retirement of Gail Lewis, who managed the agency for several years. United Insurance Services moved to its present location at 509 Main Street, Vincennes Indiana in 1973. In 2008 we opened a second location at 209 E. Main Street, Washington Indiana. United Insurance Services, Inc and its component firms are and have been an important and longtime part of the commercial life of Southwestern Indiana and Southeastern Illinois. Many major insurance companies are represented, and the firm prides itself on being a complete Insurance Store with the facilities and markets to provide all types of insurance coverage. Although the hand written policies of our forebearers have progressed to the modern age of computerization, our commitment to stability and personal service remains as strong as ever.
