If you read a negative review about this place, it's probably someone who was unfit to adopt. ARC & the staff are amazing. My family adopted from them 3 years ago and it was such a pleasant experience. They followed all the "checks & balances" to ensure the safety and security of the ANIMAL FIRST. They have the animals' best interested at heart and that is ALWAYS what these animals need. Continue the great work ARC!!!

In the 27 years the Animal Refuge Center has been in business, there are occasionally times when a rude, disagreeable potential adopter has to be turned away. Humane organizations and pet adoption agencies compete against kill shelters, puppy mills and petshops to find lasting homes for pets, and their dedication to that cause of overcoming high pet overpopulation, educating the public and finding homes for the unwanted makes it a business where the customer is not always right.

The founder of ARC, Joan Jost, recently said, "I am amazed at the dedication of the current staff, to have kept ARC flourishing after all these years."

When I called regarding my missing cat the lady spent at least a half hour trying to calm me down. My cat turned out to have died of natural causes but I donated $100 for the "psychiatric help." They could not have been nicer.

The owner is rude, one barely spoke English and there was only one nice worker there.. Kind of messy inside, animals running EVERYWHERE, they promised to call me back after I tried to adopt a dog.. Never happened, I think it's an all out shady place with a shady owner!
