I was told by my optometrist that I had a bleed in my left eye and that I needed to see my primary physician. I didn't have one so they recommend him. The nurse at the office I was at made a appointment and checked to see if he took my insurance. I was told they did. So I go into his office and start filling out paperwork and had them make a copy of my ID and insurance card. I was then told that they didn't expect my insurance there. I was told by there billing department that I had blue Cross California, witch I do not. Then told me I couldn't pay cash for my opponent because I had insurance. That it would be illegal for them to do so. So I went outside and called my insurance company. They informed me that I didn't have cover California, which I already new. I asked if they could call the doctors office and explain to them what my insurance was to them. So they called the office got transferred to the billing department. The person in the billing department wouldn't say what insurance they would expect. She said it was up to the person making the appointment to find out if there insurance was expected. So how am I supposed to know what insurance they take if they wouldn't tell me? So basically I took it as we don't want to see you. This is very unprofessional for a doctor's office to be this way. I had something I was very concerned about and thought I was going to see a doctor about it. Telling people that need medical assistance to go pound sand is very concerning.

Dr. Gerges saved my life. I had a really bad case of pneumonia several years ago... I did not have a regular doctor. He graciously became mine and I am here today because of his care and practice. He genuinely cares about me as a whole person. Never had a doctor like him. Thanks, Dr. Gerges!!!
