Provided by YP.comI have been a customer at this storage facility for 15 years. Never was late on a payment. Two months ago, I tried to get into my unit and was unable to get the door to lift. I got the maintence man, and he was able to force the door up. He said a spring was broken and he would report this to the manager and she would then call me for the key when she needed it. Two weeks go by and no call. I drop by on a saturday and a young girl was working at the desk with no clue. Another week goes by (3 now) and I get a bill. I pay the bill and put a note on it inquiring what is up with my unit. I then get a call from the manager who left a message on my machine telling me they can doing nothing unless I bring my key down! So, on a saturday one month after my initial complaint, I take the key down. The manager tells me the door people are coming today and it will probably get fixed. Two or three more weeks go by and my daugher needs to get in the unit. I go down on a saturday morning and the manager is there. I asked her if the unit is fixed, and she says....no.
I said this is really unacceptable, and she starts to get defensive and tries to justify the situation instead of apologizing for the fact that I have not been able to get in my unit for well over 6 weeks. Just a horrible experience. Unit is still not fixed, I left the key with her and I have little confidence that anything will be done anytime soon. Customer relations and customer satisfaction are low priority at this facility. As long as you pay your bill on time and nothing goes wrong with your unit, you will be fine.
As a representative for the company I take this review very personal because we take every situation to heart and do our best as a team to handle every complaint or problem to the best of our ability. Because we care about our customers more than they sometimes realize, this gentleman was credited 1 months free rental for his frustrations and the springs were replaced in the unit. I can understand this gentleman's frustration for the length of time that it took, however, during the time the springs weren't working whoever was on staff would open his door so that he could access his goods. At no time was he ever without access. The customer has been with us for 15 years and it is a common occurance that springs will go bad in a unit, especially if the door is not opened on a regular basis. Unfortunately we have to out source a company to do the work for the door springs. The springs must be ordered because the doors are an older type and the springs aren't readily available. We all make mistakes and the door company had measured incorrecly and received the incorrect size in and this is what took some extra time with this particular door. I have been dealing with replacing door springs for over 5 years and we have never encountered such a problem. Sometimes things happen that aren't in our control and we do our best to make a bad situation better. We learn from our experiences and get better from each that we deal with and grow.
