Legally Blonde.

As a professional Freight Re-location Specialist, I have an occasional need for legal services, every few years on average. It was 2008 and Amanda S Gillis of the Seymour Law Group was assigned to me, via a legal referral service. I got a ticket from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for improper lane usage. This is typical for me. I don’t speed, but I don’t pay enough attention to all the signs either. Amanda, handled my case exactly as I’m used to from any attorney. That is, with as little involvement from me as possible after the initial consultation. I’m results oriented and admittedly quite spoiled in getting my way in legal matters. I’ve always been able to count on the legal professionals. This works out great for me because I can remain in my favorite positon, a results oriented client. Then, with confidence, I can get on with my day to day chores earning my weekly stipend. However, when I have to get involved with the methods, constantly checking and worrying about the way things are being done, this makes me an unhappy, non-returning customer. Amanda Gillis gives the worry-free results my spoiled personality is used to. For me, she negotiated a perfectly fair solution for all parties involved and after a brief probationary period, I even got back my court fines. So why a review at this late date? Nine years after using her services? One advantage to waiting (procrastinating) this long is, I have a much larger sample size of other legal services to compare with Amanda and the Seymour Law Group since 2008. As it turns out, not all lawyers are that good. At least from the referral service I use[d]. I don’t want to disparage their name, but their initials are TVC. In fact since 2008, my assigned attorneys, thru TVC have lost every single case I had. Albeit there were only a few, but these other attorneys were either unprepared or un-involved. One refused to take my calls when I was following up to see how things turned out. Turns out, it didn’t turn out. I had a call from another attorney that needed me to re-courier paperwork I sent 2 months before. This was the night before a court date. I had to inform him that unfortunately, my Gulfstream G4 was in the shop. Another law professional told me that I didn’t have much of a case because of the judge’s bias. Weak! By coincidence, this was also a lane usage ticket. I offer these comparisons because even though I used Amanda’s services once, I called her for legal advice on these and other matters. A kind of sounding board in way. She’s always available or, at least returns my calls. Her listening and mentoring over these 9 years gives me a deeper understanding of the legal environment she works in. Combined with my own observations such as, the CHP is being more level-headed and fair than their reputation. However, the judges, not so much, makes for a greater appreciation of her vocation. My observations are anecdotal of course, but I feel I have just enough experience to give this observation.

Lastly, The legally blonde title? I thought she was a brunette before. I never met her in person but I regularly see a couple of her billboards. Amanda and the Seymour Law Group keeps the bar high and the convictions low.
