New Haven Youth & Family Services, founded in 1967 and headquartered in Vista, Calif., offers services to troubled adolescent males and their families through mental health service, residential treatment, special education, vocational training and clinical intervention. Most of the young men who are offered the services are between the ages of 12 to 17. Many have either mental health conditions or family conflicts that contribute to their failure to function effectively within their families and school environment. The organization s programs are built to allow them to once again become healthy members of communities. Most of the youth stay an average of one-year. During that time, they work through varying phases of therapeutic programs, complete or continue their high school education and receive vocational skills. New Haven Youth & Family Services is licensed by the California State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.
