Provided by YP.comI think Vista Knoll is a great facility. The staff go above and beyond their job expectations and really seem to care about the residents. the facility was always clean and had no bad smell! The grounds are beautiful and a great place to spend time with a loved one. Above all they have an outstanding therapy staff that really helped our family. Highly recommended.

Provided by YP.comThe care at Vista Knoll SNF is very poor due to lack of enough CNA's to handle the large workload. They work very hard and are very caring, however, there are not enough of them. The food is bad; my mother had to lie in a dirty diaper for 2+ hrs. before anyone answered her call light - this had happened many times; she's had a UTI for a month and this is just now being looked into (contacting her dr. for testing, etc). The owner/mgr. needs to step up to his responsibilities and hire more CNA's/Nurses and look into improving the food.

Provided by YP.comMy mother was admitted to Vista Knoll and was there for approximately 9 months. When she was admitted she had just came out of a 7 month coma. She had to be fed by a feeding tube inserted through the wall of her abdomen. She also had a tracheotomy. Needless to say she was defenseless and at their mercy.
I live 3 hours away from Vista Knoll so I was only able to visit 1 - 2 times per week. What I saw and what my mother experienced while staying there are unexcusable. Patients that are unable to voice their complaints or concerns are neglected. They are left to sit in their own waste for hours on end. When bathed they are sat in a chaired and sprayed off like an animal.
My mother has had to wait for up to 45 minutes after pressing the red nursing button for needed assistance. I was present and took note of these violations first hand. At one point my mothers' life was threatened by a psyche patient who had entered her room one evening and tore the phone out of the wall and told my mother for 30 minutes that he was going to kill her. My mother had pressed her nursing button but no one responded. She had to wait - terrified - until the man left her room. When she finally got through to the nursing station by using her sedated roommates phone, they told her that they couldn't speak with her right then - "they were handling a situation" and hung up on her. It turns out the "situation" they were handling was the psyche patient. He had went to the nursing desk and started threatening them. They ended up calling the police and having him removed to another facility.
When they discharged my mother to my care she had a staff infection from where hey took the feeding tube out and an infection at the entrance of her trache. I do not recommend this facility to anyone.
