Provided by YP.comMy wife and I lived here for 1 year as I attended Baylor Law School. The rent is fairly low, but remember, you get what you pay for. If you plan to live here: (1) Insist on seeing the apartment first, as we were promised a ground floor apartment with new carpet, neither of which were provided. Also, the apartment was furnished with appliances, including a built-in microwave, but the microwave was broken from day 1 and never repaired (tacky). (2) Be aware many of the neighbors are noisy. We lived next to a fellow who loved to get wasted and blast his music at all hours of the day and night. Its also not uncommon to have a "thug" roll up in his ride in the early hours of the morning generously sharing his tunes with the rest of the neighbors. (3) Don't expect to get your deposit back. We cleaned and gave the landlord a timely termination notice with our new address. However, we never received a check or even an accounting (clear violations of the Texas Property Code). When confronted, the manager simply said that our apartment was clean but they still did their normal cleaning like shampooing the carpet (which they cannot lawfully deduct for as it is normal wear and tear). Ultimately, $150 wasn't worth going before the Justice of the Peace to force them to return our money (and that is why you won't get your money back either).
