We had a HORRIBLE experience with this business. We had a draftsman come to our renovation lot and I gave them a plan I found online as a guide for what we were looking for. We knew going into the process, if we didn't buy our supplies from them, the cost for the plans would be $1200. Merickels was nearly 30% higher for the materials compared to our other lumber yard. We had no choice but to go with the other yard and pay for the plans from Merickels. We went into pay for the plans and the guy that drew up the supply list asked, "what do you think is a fair price"? Confused, we said we didn't know... not knowing the price for the plans was negotiable. At any rate, he told us how about $800 instead of $1200. Thinking they were just being nice, we paid the $800. A few days later, I asked for some updates on the plan and they told us because we weren't getting our supplies from them they weren't doing our plans. So now we have an old, useless plan, and $800 less in our pocket.
