I tried two different counselors here. One I stopped going to after she spent 20 minutes of our time talking about her new hairstyles and styles that she'd tried in the past. The other one seemed to think I didn't have a problem and made light of everything I said. Just because I'm a professional woman who "appears" to have everything together does NOT mean "I'm fine". Do your job!

I don't know if they didn't take my problems seriously, but I met with two seperate counselors at Granite City Counseling and both of them were very ho-hum. One of them talked about her new hairstyle for 15 minutes in our 45 minute session. The other one made me feel like I had no problems and couldn't wait to get me out the door. I did meet with a 3rd counselor once but she barely looked up from her paperwork the entire time I was there, so I decided to just give up. I'm an educated, professional woman and was hoping to be treated a little better than this.

Terrible experience with Suzanne Thompson. She gave marriage advice such as if your husband tells you something hurtful just tell him to "shut up" and if my husband says something while drinking I shouldn't let it bother me because he's drinking. She is extremely unprofessional.
