From our humble beginnings on Broad Street in New Orleans to our current position as the world's largest fine dining company, Ruth's Chris Steak House has come quite a long way in its first four decades. In 2005, we celebrated our 40th anniversary, and we consider it a celebration of the life of a woman who broke the mold - our founder, Ruth Fertel.

Been to all the steak places in the area and this is by far the best steak house! Service: The people there are always friendly. They don't rush you, but they also don't ignore you. They want you to order plenty, but aren't pushy if you don't. Food: l. Delicious! Big piece of prime rib, awesome potato's and perfect veggies for 30 bucks. Their hot rolls are very good as well. I hate it when nice restaurants serve you cold bread. I've also had the seafood risotto. It had big shrimp, scallops and fish. This was a very tasty risotto. I would highly recommend it. A smart person once told me that steak houses serve the best seafood. If I based it off of this dish, they were right! Price: A pricey hit makes this place a great value! I would rather come to than those other places. Bottom line - this place has my delicious seal of approval.

I am pretty surprised by the raters here because I have been here multiple times and have enjoyed my experience every time. The service is impeccable and the meat is really well done. I have been to my share and know good steak and I am comfortable spending 50-60 bucks a head for good steak. I was here one time and the NY steak I had was slightly overdone. I sent it back and they brought a new one out in less than 10 min. They also had the manager come over and apologize and sent us a free dessert! That was not required but the gesture was appreciative. The great part about this place is that the steaks come out sizzling hot which is the best because once the meat is room temperature it loses some of its flavor. I would go back without question.

What is they hype...besides the cost?

I have been here twice, and am still trying to figure out what the big deal is. I am a meat-eater who loves a great steak. I can have a good steak at home for about $100 less! The cost of this place is outrageous. The steaks come separately, with absolutely no sides. You end up paying out the nose just to have a meal. If you get a gift card, go there, otherwise, go someplace cheaper!

I've heard a lot of hype about this restaurant. I've been to my share of pricy joints. I don't see what the hype about this place is. Nothing special. Very expensive for a very small entree, and nothing more special than any other steak Ive had from a decent restaurant.
