I'v used these technicians for 20 years + and I found that they have corrected any problems or indicated who to get for specialized service, like re-plastering and tiles. You can call after 9am the day of the appointment and they can tell you when the techs will arrive. I just had the deco seal done this year and they were in and out in an hour doing a great job. I've done this myself in the past and it took several hours to do the same job. Most of the time I've had Charlie, Paul or Mike who all did a great job.

I am disappointed in both in the service I received from this company, as well as the lack of customer service I received. The list of services included in the $280 partial pool opening was not communicated to me upon making an appointment. And when I called after the fact, to see what the $280 actually covered, no one in the office was able to answer me. They had to call a technician and return my call later that day.

The list I was received was: Test your water, get your pool pump going, and make sure the pipes work correctly. If I had known this is what I was paying for, I would have never made the appointment.

You can get your water tested for free at any pool store. We got the pool pump ready ourselves. And the technician did not ensure the pipes were working correctly and we had to fix it ourselves when we identified his mistake.

When the technician realized that we had done most of the work for him, he should have called as a courtesy to let us know that we would be wasting our money by having him complete any work. But instead, he spent minimal time at our home and the company charged us an exorbitant amount of money. To make matters worse, when I called to discuss this with the office I received little to no customer service. Instead of working with us, so that both parties were happy at the end of the day; I received an attitude of ‘You knew what you were getting, so we won’t bend’. How does this elicit loyalty in your customers?

I am disgusted that the company then charged me an additional $100 for pool chemicals.

A complete and utter rip off.

Totally unreliable

Had an appointment to have my pool opened this year and change a lite bulb in my spa (they were actually suposed to change the bulb last year but they never did), so I took the day off so I wouldn't have strangers around my house with no one there, and the guy no called no showed. The dude finally showed up the next morning found one broken piece, left a note and bolted without doing anything. After another week we got a call saying that someone would be coming by the end of the day, and again no one showed. the next day another guy finally came, did about 1/2 the job and told us we needed a seal for our care taker system and left. It finally got to the point where I couldn't see the bottom of the shallow end, so I went ahead and tried to get my filter running. Not only did I have the seal I needed it was on the part it was supposed to go on. I got everything working without any extra pieces. Then these people have the nurve to send me a bill like they showed up on time and did their job, and had the stones to charge me for what I had to do because they were neglecting there responsabitties. Run, run away. This company is the worst.... P.S. The lite bulb still hasn't been changed

would highly recommend, have b...

would highly recommend, have been using them for about 7 years. Changed companies 1 year for a more local co and was very unhappy, switched right back to independent. Every person there is polite, pleasant and knowledgeable, including the people in the office. I honestly never worry about the pool because they handle it completely and I only have it cleaned once a month! They really are great!

Its easy to write a nasty review of a company that you had a problem with...I won't do that. If you need a very basic pool company Independent Pool is fine--opening and closing etc.. However, if you need real expert to fix a bigger problem, again not 3rd grade basic stuff....this company is not the right one. I had a broken part in my pool, and basically they "patched" the problem, didn't tell me that the best they could do is a patch until after the $500 bill. I found someone who was more of an expert, and another $500 later, it was fixed in 24 hours, when it took several calls and literally all summer of getting the brush off that "well, that's the best that could be done..." A real expert, 24 hours..all done. So, again, open, close, put the cover on, flush the system--they're fine. If you have a real problem, save yourself the aggravation and money, call a someone else.
