They require money in advance to service your generator. I sent a check for $295.00 last September, and after calling them three times. they finally scheduled today for service. They made me feel like they were doing me a favor! Window was 8 am to noon; at 12:10 I call to see what happened. Am told serviceman had to have his windshield replaced...why wasn't I called? I ask. No good answer, again felt they really did not care. Serviceman arrives, tells me the office screwed up his schedule, and he apologizes. They have my money for over three months and this is the lousy customer service I get. Would give them no stars if possible. Will not use them again.

Wish I had seen the review below before I hired South Shore Generator! I live in Metrowest and the trip charge for my visit was a small fortune! I would never recommend this company to anyone outside their immediate area.

You need to know, if you hire these guys to service your generator, that they charge the full technician's hourly repair rate (currently $97/hr), not only while he is at your job site, but from the moment he steps into the repair van - plus they charge a van fee as well. Which means that while he is on the way to your site, you are paying well over $100 per hour. When you get the bill and question this, they will claim that they told you the rates, and that "we have been doing this for 30 years with no complaints". If you need emergency service, it will be even more. Just a warning.
