Excellent medical care, iffy insurance communications

Dr. Struth was able to determine by studying my medical history & asking a few pertinent questions the cause of a serious reaction I was having for which my allergist had put me through a horrible gambit of tests & found no definitive answers. My allergy to aspirin was noted in every chart for every dr. I'd visited the past 30 years, but he was the 1st to help me figure out how to adjust my other meds, diet & even which items I can't allow to touch my skin in order that I may lead a nearly normal life. He is the only doctor I trust to understand which new medications can be added safely to my regimen, & he is helping me find the right balance to manage my life with osteoarthritis & fibromyalgia.



He can be swamped with patients at times, so will try to sum up your situation quickly. If you have trouble remembering things quickly to answer when people ask you questions, then you'd better bring a list of your concerns, symptoms, current meds, etc.



When I 1st became a patient at this office, they had a different billing clerk, & there have been some discrepancies that were made & needing clearing up recently. Some of what the previous clerk had told me regarding my med coverage allotment to their office was mistaken & it is costing me more than I can pay all at once to fix it. But they are trying to work with us on that.

crooked doctor

A few years ago (maybe 3 or 4) I too went to Dr. Struth. what a mistake! I needed some tests which they were going to do in their office. I had insurance AND a co-insurance that picks up anything the first insurance agrees to but didn't pay. So basically we do not have to pay for co-share. Anyway they did the test and on my way out they said I owed them $150.00 today. I naturally asked what for because my insurances always pick up everything? They told me it was because their internet to the insurance was down and they could not check to see if my deductibles had been paid yet. I assured them I HAD no deductibles because of the two insurances I had...my supplemental picked up the deductibles and they had already been paid in fact. Well nothing would do but I had to pay the $150.00 before I left the office.



It was around Christmas time and I was so distraught over all this I was even crying as I wrote them out a check for $150.00 which they immediately cashed! They assured me that they would call the next morning to verify that the deductible had been paid and if so would issue me a check. I called them back the next day to find out if they had cleared up the mess so they would return my money to me and they had not contacted my insurance yet. This senerio went on for several days. Finally I had another appointment with the Dr. and let him know what was going on. He informed me his wife was taking care of it (she was the billing account) and would contact me. This went on between us for a few months my trying to get my money returned. They NEVER did return it. They always had a reason or excuse and stuck to it!



I feel this Dr. and his office staff are crooks! There is no telling how many others they have duped money out of too, and just incidentally they are NOT registered with the Better Business Bureau either, I checked. I did submit a complaint to the BBB but of course it did no good. I also contacted the AMA and submitted a complaint but again, not results. I contacted the Atthorney Generals Office to alert them to this business and it did not yield results either. So I finally let it go and decided they must have needed the money worse than I did and never set foot in their establishment again! What a shame this doctor is allowed to do such things and get away with it...there should be a way to make him stop!!!

Billing nightmare

I just received a bill in the mail from FIVE years ago. The office claims their books were a mess...not my fault....and the bookkeeper is no longer there but they brought someone in to "fix" everything. Now I am supposed to take their word that I owe them money from appointments FIVE years ago...I don't even have the same insurance anymore. What an embarrassing crock! This is the most unprofessional thing I have seen in a long time...
