Established in 1972, the Warren Township Police Department is a law enforcement agency that works to preserve peace and prevent crime. It undertakes cases related to sexual offenses, domestic violence and drug abuse. The department operates a communication division that responds to various emergency and nonemergency calls. The Warren Township Police Department maintains detective, records and traffic safety bureaus, as well as a services division. The department supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, which focuses on the prevention of illegal usage of drugs, gang activities and violent behavior. It hosts the Explorer program, which provides training in the areas of history and introduction of law enforcement, patrol procedures, traffic control, criminal investigation, and search and arrest procedures.
