The Clatsop County Sheriff s Office is the primary criminal investigation and law enforcement agency in Clatsop County, Ore. It maintains marine patrol, high-angle rescue, underwater recovery, and search and rescue divisions, as well as a countywide interagency narcotics task force. The sheriff s office is also responsible for emergency services planning and response to disasters and alerts. The Clatsop County Sheriff s Office operates a jail that houses pretrial, presentenced, and county- and state-sentenced prisoners. It supports a cadet program that educates youths to learn tactics, procedures, laws and other daily duties of police officers. The Clatsop County Sheriff s Office is located in Astoria, Ore.
