David Minitor, Home Grown Brings Jobs Home! David Miniitor of Minitor Market An old hometown business gets a new life and facelift!! The Warrenville Supermarket formally ran by the Gurley family in the 70's, 80's and 90's gets new life from a local family. David Minitor who grew up in Burnettown and has worked in the grocery business for over 30 years purchased the Warrenville Supermarket and giving it new life as "Minitor Market". An interim owner had difficulty with the store and David purchased the store from the Gurley family. David said, "There is to much history and the community deserves better". He remembers fondly as a child going shopping at the supermarket with his family. After researching the market, David resigned his position with a major chain, which he has worked for many years learning the business, and went to work, breathing new life into a hometown landmark. David is the 7th generation of merchants. He spoke of his family history, his Great Grandmother who ran a small grocery store less than a mile away in Madison just pass the Highway 1 bridge, from the 1920's to the 1950's. His cousins ran grocery stores in downtown Aiken, Old Ellenton, Dunbarton, New Ellenton, Williston and the Jackson areas. David's dad Rev. Melvin Minitor Sr., pastored West Warrenville Baptist Church and other churches in the area for many years and was in management with Graniteville Company until the Vaucluse mill closed. David took control of the market and immediately hired 4 new employees. Several who worked for many years with Doug Gurley. Clean-up and equipment upgrade immediately began. Shelves are being stocked and over the next several weeks, "David's Farm Fresh Produce" will come alive. The new produce manager has worked with farmers around the state for over 25 years. Many of these products will come direct from the farms via David to you. His meat department is also coming alive with "David's Fresh Meat's". The meat department will be manned by seasoned meat cutters. David said, the produce and meat departments will be the high-light of the store. You will find many of the name brand grocery items you find in the chain stores at competitive prices. Over the next few months he feels the store can expand to 16-18 jobs. David's brother responded that social media has been awesome with a lot of positive comments. A number of people are coming by the store to congratulate and thank him for taking on this endeavor. David said you'll find, 'The meats you love, at prices you expect, from faces you know! Come visit Minitor Market'. It is located at 1161 Augusta Rd. at the corner of Hwy 421 and Howlandville Rd.
