Established in 1976, Washburn Iron Works Inc. has been manufacturing castings from a short run of five pieces to a long run of 40,000 pieces. Based in Washburn, Wis., the company produces castings for a wide range of segments, including hydraulic torque converters, marine and power shift transmissions and universal joints. It also produces castings for gas turbines starting drives, exhaust fans, ventilation systems, centrifugal blowers, speed reducers, gear boxes, sprockets, farm and recreational equipment. Its products range from plumbing to television, from airplanes to railroads, from automobiles to agricultural equipment, to name a few. Washburn Iron Works Inc. is North Star Manufacturing Alliance affiliated.
