The American Bankers Association is a nonprofit organization that represents more than 2 million men and women who work in United States banks, and bring together all categories of banking institutions to represent the interests of the industry. The ABA represents banks of all sizes on issues of national importance for financial institutions and their customers. Founded in 1875 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., its membership includes community, regional and money center banks and holding companies, as well as savings associations, trust companies and savings banks. ABA s affiliates include The Institute of Certified Bankers, Bankers' Association for Finance and Trade, ABA Education Foundation, ABA Marketing Network, ABA Securities Association, American Bankers Insurance Association, American Institute of Banking and Bankers' Association for Finance and Trade.
