Founded in 1974, the American Wind Energy Association is the national trade association of the United States wind energy industry. It has more than 1,900 member companies that include wind power project developers, equipment suppliers, services providers, part manufacturers, researchers and others involved in the wind industry. The American Wind Energy Association publishes the Green Power Superhighways in partnership with the Solar Energy Industries Association. It provides information on operating wind energy and new projects in the various stages of development. The American Wind Energy Association hosts WINDPOWER, which is one of the largest wind energy conferences in North America that provides the presentation of industry trends. Its members include Actuant/Acme Electric, Advanced Torque Products, Aero Transportation Products, and Aero-Metric. The association has partnerships with The Wind Coalition, Renewable Northwest Project, Interwest Energy Alliance, and the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technologies.
