Benjamin Bannekar High School, based in Washington D.C., serves more than 400 students in grades nine through 12. It has a Community Laboratory Program in which students provide 270 hours of volunteer service over a four-year period, fostering good citizenship, increasing knowledge of the world of work and promoting awareness of career goals. A five-week summer enrichment program is offered that is designed to strengthen academic skills in science and mathematics. Courses in visual arts, music and Internet access are also offered. Advanced placement courses are offered in biology, Calculus, chemistry, English literature, English language and composition, French, music theory, physics, Spanish language, Spanish literature, studio art, United States, history, United States government and statistics.
