Founded in 1988, BoardSource offers a variety of programs and services for the boards of directors of various nonprofit organizations. It conducts workshops, training sessions to provide guidance on issues related to good governance, as well as offers educational opportunities. The organization maintains a staff of more than 40 employees who provides consulting services for clients. BoardSource has partnerships with various organizations, such as Corporation for Public Broadcasting, American Association of Museums, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity International, National Council of La Raza and the United Way of America. It also provides a collection of books and CDs that contains material related to nonprofit governance. BoardSource is located in Washington, D.C.
