The Department of Human Services of the District of Columbia coordinates and provides a range of services to improve the quality of life for economically and socially challenged residents. It offers fraud and discrimination reporting, homeless assistance and adult protective services. The department supports and conducts a variety of special programs, including burial assistance, hypothermia watch and refugee resettlement.
