Elisir is a chic and classy dining spot. My friends and I dined at the bar for lunch to celebrate one of my friends’ birthday. [Please note: The BAR lunch menu and the lunch menu are different.] I was impressed with the service we received from the bartender and the other servers (and even the manager). I was also pleased that the prix fixe lunch menu had several, distinct options, including exciting vegetarian options. I ordered the spinach and cheese stuffed cannellone and ate every bite of it! Both of my friends were quite satisfied with their salmon. My favorite part of the meal was probably the delicious pear and rosemary Italian soda that the bartender made while we watched. It was even better than the mixed berries with pistachio zabaglione I had for dessert! And in case you’re wondering what a “zabaglione” is, it’s a light custard. If you’re wondering how to pronounce it, I can’t help you. I just pointed to it on the menu. The only complaint I have about my Elisir experience is that our entrees took too long to come out. The bartender inquired twice with the kitchen about the status of our food and the servers apologized profusely for how long it took. It was very puzzling given the reputation of this restaurant, the particular entrees we ordered, and the fact that the restaurant did not appear to be very busy. Bottom line: Great food, good service, slow kitchen. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I return will soon…when I have a lot of time on my hands.
