The National Foundation For Credit Counseling, founded in 1951, is one of the largest and longest serving national nonprofit credit counseling organizations in the United States. The foundation s mission is to set the national standard for quality credit counseling, debt reduction services and education for financial wellness, through its member agencies. The NFCC has played a role in providing financial counseling and education to consumers for more than 50 years, has dozens of member agencies and hundreds of offices throughout the country. Many NFCC members are known as Consumer Credit Counseling Service. The National Foundation For Credit Counseling is located in Silver Spring, Md.
