Pact was founded in 1971 as a membership organization for private and voluntary and nongovernmental organizations in the United States. It implements more than 100 projects in over 46 countries in Asia, Eurasia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. The agency administers the Community REACH program, which is funded through the Global Bureau for Health s Office of HIV/AIDS (OHA) and facilitates the efficient flow of grant funds to organizations to support programs that reach individuals, families and communities. Pact s Impact Alliance program is a global partnership for capacity development that inspires, informs and improves practice and performance within organizations for reducing poverty. The agency s WORTH program focuses on the development of reading, writing and basic financial literacy skills. Pact is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
