Regional Addiction Prevention (RAP) was established in 1970 in Washington D.C as a not-for-profit agency for human welfare and health care. It was founded to mainly assist individuals in HIV/AIDS care, nutritional counseling, transitional housing and emergency care, substance abuse treatment, and primary medical care for out-patients. It consists of a qualified medical team who can take care of screenings for hepatitis, prostate cancer, TB, glucose, kidney disease, hypertension, and cholesterol. It also has licensed professional counselors who can handle group counseling and therapy, anger management, drug education, and prevention of relapse. RAP caters to the adult population of the District of Columbia.
