Illinois Valley Plastics provides custom molded thermoplastics and is one of the top molders of thermoplastics for the Caterpillar Company, with more than 500 active parts. Caterpillar developed many of its plastic applications by working closely with IVP. The majority of IVP's growth throughout its first 40 years was through its close partnership with Caterpillar. Through the years IVP s customer base has grown to more than 120 customers. IVP excels in specialized applications. Because of the diversity of the custom molded products it produces and the special needs of a wide variety of customers, IVP has developed capabilities beyond its competitors. For example, IVP processes more than 140 different thermoplastic materials on a regular basis. The company is efficient in low volume production through the utilization of quick-change mold inserts. IVP has support capabilities for secondary machining and assembly and it has an in-house tool room for mold building and ongoing mold maintenance. IVP is headquartered in Washington, Ill.
