my grandfather, Romeo Dumouchel, started Dumouchel way back when most or all of us weren't born yet. After his death the family got together and tried to get someone in the family to take it over. Surprisingly enough no one wanted the job until my mother asked my father if he would do it for her. My dad no matter what other may say about him was a gentleman and never ever said no to my mother; he acepted and the rest is history. If it were not for Francis Gordon Martin, many people then as well as today would not have a home, business or educations that my father helped others to obtain. Dumouchel Paper has a wonderful and rich history to it. I remember as a youth running through the building as though as it were my private refuge (which, to be honest probably was). Of course, my dads' business partner, my grandmother, dame Dumouchel, was the true grit behind Dumouchel. Along with my mom and my grandmother my father made Dumouchel what it was until his retirement. I haven't been to Dumouchels in many years but I'd like to think that whomever owns it today continues to carry on its valued traditions of years ago when a man's word was his bond...This is what it was then and hopefully today...sincerely Michael J.
