As a previous worker "shortcake" and former resident of the "Swans", it is unfortunate that Kimberly continues to exploit foster children for financial gain. She does NOT have seven girls. The foster children that no longer had a purpose for her, she did away with and only keeps those she can still profit from the care checks. Most of these ideas were rip-offs from other brilliant minds to which she burnt those bridges for her own success. Soaps are dusty and old, products lack quality from the originals when the spa had first opened, and lack of synergy. Products are $.60 from China and sold for $6.00 Once again, great idea, but poor execution.

With much hesitation, I decided to give sundae spa one more shot, even after my daughters birthday party 2 years ago was a DISASTER and cost me a fortune. Sadly, as expected, our little spa day was just as bad.

Let me say, that this place is adorable - so many great ideas and fun stuff, I wouldn't even mind paying the exorbitant price for a horrible manicure if they kids loved it - hey, it's $ well spent - BUT - the RUDE staff. Specifically, the woman who runs the show there, " M&M" she's dreadful. She is SO mean to these little excited girls, so snarky and rushed, she's always annoyed and just as nasty as can be. I honestly can not understand why she is still there - she was jus as awful 2 years ago. I had a friend with us today with a speech impediment, which was clear. This nasty woman literally yelled at her for not speaking up - and embarrassed her. I had to apologize to the mom when I dropped her daughter off at home, as she was clearly still sad.

I watched "M&M' answer the phone several times and make obnoxious rude comments about caller after she hung up . SO unprofessional.

The "manicure" was a smudged mess by the time we left, and she had no time to fix it. YES, it was my daughters fault, but hey - she's 7, it happens. The cheap places we usually go for a manicure would NEVER let her leave with her nails like that.

So sad, because this place could be really really awesome - but honestly, they wont make it there much longer with 'M&M' running things and a few more reviews like this one. Save your money, go elsewhere and do NOT book a party here without reading all reviews everywhere.

A real missed opportunity here...

A real missed opportunity here on the owners part. Yes I know birthday parties are all about junk food and I expect that. But with childhood obesity what it is you would think someone with 7 kids wouldn't be pairing what is suppose to represent a relaxing and healthful experience with ice cream and candies. Yeah I get they are kids but obviously your experiences as a child shapes who you are as an adult. Also an ice cream sundae every day during the day camp! my kid wont be going. Also their products have a very poor shelf life. My daughters party favor turned brown!

Hi Ladybug32, I too care about childhood obesity and health. My personal view which I believe with my own children and has been successful is treats in moderation and on special occassions is allowable. I think without these allowable times it only makes the kids want it and crave it more. Again, I don't try to push my views on anyone else, nor do I think other views are not right. We do have some parents when they come in ask that the kids have the great experience and we don't offer them the ice cream at the end and we definitely follow their wishes. As for the camps, not all the kids come every day so we do offer it each day but it does not have to be taken. When we price out the camp, the ice cream is not figured into the price, it is just given. As for the bath cake, we use high quality ingredients and stay away from the parabens that give a longer shelf life. However, with that said, our products natural ingredients should provide 1-2 year shelf life depending on the product. Some of our scents have vanilla content and after a long period of time may cause discolor/fading but does not in any way change the composition or quality of the product. We stand behind all of our products and offer replacement/credit if you are in any way dissatisfied. Please contact me if I may be of further assistance.

I brought my 2 daughters here for my daughters birthday for the hair/tattoo package. The place is really amazing, perfect for a little girl. Last week we brought my daughters doll and they did a hair wrap on her, its adorable. We will be back:)

Amazing

The owner and her daughters are absolutely fabulous. My daughter celebrated her 6th birthday party here and it will not be the last! It was 6 months ago and the kids are all still talking about it. Every chance we get we try and stop in for glam strands and feathers too! Once you go one time you kids will be hooked... And parents too!

The owner always gives back too, every chance she gets they are running a charity event or something. Such amazing people, if you haven't been I urge you to go, it's like nothing you have even seen or experienced before!

I give them 10 out of 5 stars!

Sundae spa is beautiful, a gre...

Sundae spa is beautiful, a great concept. However, like any great restaurant if the food is good and the atmosphere is wonderful but the service is so/so...you wont go back. My 3 year old daughter loved it,but a nice greeting at the door would have been helpful, especially since there is so much to digest when you walk in. A simple "welcome to Sundae Spa, have you ever been here before?" would have been a good thing. Although friendly in the end, the man at the counter didnt bother to make eye contact when we walked in. As someone that works around a lot of children, its very important to make eye contact with them and establish a trusting and fun relationship first. The services are a little pricey, but its expected for the experience so i didnt mind paying a premium for a pedicure. It would be helpful for a friendly person to make some first-time visitor recommendations. Also, the website and outgoing phone message both said the hours were 2-7pm that day, however when I called and talked to someone at 3:45 they said that they were closing at 5...we went anyway because it was in the game plan and a 3 year old girl was really looking forward to it, but kind of got the feeling that we were the "last table before closing". In all, if the customer service experience is bumped up I say you have a gold mine...think Disney, you are making some little girls dreams come true so you gotta live up to it!

Dear Trimamma, I apologize for your experience upon entering sundae spa. We try to always welcome everyone as the come in the store. My husband and I being the parents of 7 daughters understand the importance of this. We base Sundae Spa on the high quality of customer service and experience. As I cannot say what may have happen that day that you were not greeted, I can say that our practice is that you are greeted. I would like to extend to you to bring your daughter in for a manicure and a sundae to enjoy at not charge and make sure that your experience is fantastical from beginning to the end. Please call me at your convience to book. KIM/Owner of Sundae Spa

I wish I had read some of the ...

I wish I had read some of the reviews here before I had my daughter's birthday party here. I completely agree with reviews saying that they are disorganized. Good things the guests at my daughter's party were so sweet. They were out of many of the toppings that they offered the girls for the sundaes. They had to go back and tell them to make another choice. It would have been far better to have figured that out beforehand, rather than make the offer and then have to back off from it. They had the girls pose for photos, only to discover there was no room on the card and that the room was too small for them to take a photo in which all the girls could be easily. I was under the impression that the kids could choose the type of bath cupcake they got for a favor or at least they would get the birthday cake one. Instead they all got some plain yellow one which must not be a good seller so they were trying to get rid of it on my girls.

Just returned from having my daughter's 5th birthday party here, and I think I could cry. We just discovered that they forgot to paint her thumbs on her manicure, come on. We also live over 30 miles away (which they knew) so it's not like I can run back and get them fixed Also, the "party room" really reminded me of a prison cell. They have a larger party area, which is what I saw when I visited, and though it was not in use, we were jammed into a curtained off area that literally was 7 feet wide by 11 feet long, at the most. And, it was beastly hot in there the whole time. While some of the girls were having their hair services and nails done, there was a nice young lady playing games with the other girls who were waiting for their turns. However, these girls were forced to sit on the floor and it was like they literally could not move. These are young kids, and they could not even stand up and play charades as there was no room. There was no laughing or jumping or fun like you would expect at such a party. If someone had to use the restroom, people had to move to get out of way so the door could be opened. I feel totally ripped off. I could not complain on the spot lest I risk further ruining her party. Parties here cost big bucks, and require a mandatory 18% gratuity, yet we did not feel like honored guests. When we arrived exactly 15 minutes before the party was to begin, as they requested, we had to stand around for 10 minutes doing nothing with a box in our hands because they were not ready for us. Not exactly the warm welcome I expected for my birthday girl. I had such high hopes after coming here for a haircut for my daughter and reviewing the website and talking with the owner and party hostess, but I could have hired a high school student for about $25 and bought less than $50 worth of supplies, and had the party at home and had a much better time. I also was disappointed that they don't use the more expensive solvent free nail polishes in the party room as they do in the spa. I hate to pan a small family business, but they have got to do better. I trusted my daughter's birthday party to them, and they failed.

MMSWHCT, I don't know where to begin. I pride myself on my business that I created from scratch and participate in every day with my family. I do recall your party and was actually shocked with the review after asking you numerous times how everything was. When you booked your party, you were shown both party rooms and explained that the sweet treats room was for a party of 8 and the cupcake room for a party of 10. We do offer the piggy paint in the party rooms along with the chemical polish because not everyone wants the water based polish. This way we can meet everyones needs. We have been having parties of 8 in the sweet treats room for 18 months and have not had any complaints about the room or the service. With that said, I apologize if you were unhappy with your party or dissatisfied in any way. I wish you had something to me that day. Your daughters party was my priority. Please contact me to discuss further. Kim/Owner Sundae Spa

live in upstate NY and my mot...

live in upstate NY and my mother in law told me she brought my kids to this place I was upset. This place tricks parents into thinking they are giving their kids safe treatments when in reality they are chemically laden! Do your own research people! you cant trust on sundae spa or the food and drug administration to do that! cancer rates, autism, and general unwellness in our society are rising- its no secret that cosmetics have something to do with it! I tell all parents to research using this the skin deep website! its time to take our kids and our health in our own hands!

Hi Candyland314. As a mother of 7 daughters, I too have the same concerns you do. Our product line for make your own bath and body products range from organic to vegan, all are paraben free and our shampoo is sulfate free. Our color system are micas and our fragrances are phalate free. Our hair coloring system and facial treatments are organic. We use "Good for you Girls" for our facials. We do have a retail shop that sells other brands, but our services and sundae spa product line are "Top of the line" . It is a true to life "Spa for Kids" I would love to send you a sample of our products to personally try since your mother in law brought the kids and you did not get a chance to experience the spa yourself. Thanks, Kim

Booked My Party this week.

My best friend had her daughters party there this week and it was incredible. The kids cannot stop talking about it. She had the dessert dig party so I had to pick something else. But it was so cute!

I met the owner, her husband and 3 of her kids were there working. What an incredible family. You can tell their heart and soul is in it. It also shows in their lovely staff. They were great with the kids.

My daughter loved their dessert names. M&M, Lollipop, KitKat. So much fun! We can't wait to have our party!

We wish you much success Sundae Spa!

Best New Party Place

My daughter had her birthday party there two weeks ago and every child fell in love with the spa. The satff went out of their way to make the party special for each and every child there. The professionalism, detail to each product and service given, and the safety of the children went above and beyond my expectations. Many parties were booked that day and we will continue to be fans. M&M, Lollipop, Skittles, and

ShortCake are my daughters new best friends.....

Party!

I had a party at this spa last week with 17kids. It was absolutely Incredible. M&M ran the party. The spa seems to have a routine. When I came in for my daughters party, they pulled me aside. Let me know everything that was going on. Asked me if I had any questions or if there was anything I would like added to my party. Very professional.

I booked the over the top banana split. Worth every penny. Hair wraps, manicures, pedicures and they made their own lip gloss. The girls loved it!!!!!!

The staff made sure that everyone was having fun! M&M, Skittles, Kit Kat and Lollipop were great!

beautiful bath lotions,soaps , a BIG "BUT"....

the nail polish lasted exactly 3 hours before chipping off, and it was very hard to get off once that happened. I understand that the polish is water based with no chemicals, but $25.00 is an awful LOT to pay for 3 hours of polish.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer, there is one very inappropriate employee, that should not be there. She is rude, snarky and condescending. Too bad. The owner does seem like a sweet woman, but needs to be able to control her staff.

wonderful bath items - but..

don't let them tell you, they can handle a party of 16 -they can not, not even almost.

the polish washes off in one hand wash.

There is one extremely rude employee, that is in charge of working kids parties - you MUST ask for the employee cherfully named " M&M" not to be present, or your party will go down hill quickly. This is a very expensive venue for a child party, so ask a lot of questions first.

on the upside, the spa is beautiful, and make your own products and soaps unbelievable!
