I am new to the area and needed to find a tanning salon ASAP. After looking at the reviews on-line for tanning in Watertown, NY I called around and visited a couple of salons that had good reviews. Not impressed. Incompetent staff and dirty salons....
FINALLY I found Shear Images Tanning on State St. It's CLEAN and the beds are amazing!
Hopefully this review help others shorten the search time...

All you Tanner's have got to go here. I am a die hard Tanner and have tried about every salon in Watertown and Evans Mills and surrounding areas.Shear images is the BEST I have got to say.If you are fed up with spending your money to buy a package only to end up with disappointment you won' t be here.Ricki the owner does change her bulbs regularly and I can promise you won' t be disappointed here.I have gone to other tanning saloons that are suppose to have those super tanning beds that you pay up the nose for and didn't get the color I get here.And for those of you who like or haven' t tried yet the spray tanning you WILL get the best color I promise.Ricki's spray tanning bed is absolutely the best ever. I have never tried spray tanning for fear I would discolor or turn orangie but I ended up with a tan that was amazing .I love it there . All you Tanner's have got to try it .I promise you won' t be wasting your money .

This wasn't the worst salon I've been to but it's far from the best. It's a smaller business run from what looks like used to be an old house, and is definitely not set up properly to run a tanning salon. The rooms are crowded and very hot. The beds are old and not in the best condition and the fans don't do their job. The woman working there was very friendly and tried to help but completely underestimated the fairness of my skin and put me in the bed (this being my first time tanning ever) for 7 minutes. An hour after I left the salon my front and back were bright red, my sides remained white because the bed didn't fully wrap around. I was sunburnt for 3 days and I won't be returning to this salon again. Exotic Tanning in Evans Mills (about a 10 minute drive) is much newer and better suited for getting a golden tan.
