EXCELLENT AND COMPASSIONATE DOCTOR



I have had excellent doctors; but, I have never had a more gifted, knowledgeable, attentive, skilled and caring one than Dr. Jana Lyn McKenzie. She raises the bar of excellence several notches. I write with gratitude for all she has done for my health care. It was on a day late in the summer of 2010 that I made my initial visit; and, I knew then that my intense search for a good internal medicine specialist was over. I had found her. Dr. McKenzie bears a mantra of confidence and meticulous thoroughness in her pursuit to attain my most optimal health. A devoted and reliable doctor, she has never disappointed the high standards that I expect. Recently, I attended a luncheon/fashion event, of which St. Mary's Hospital served as one of the sponsors; and, Dr. McKenzie was the main speaker. It was a benefit for The American Heart Association. Dr. McKenzie, being the articulate public speaker that she is, rendered us an impressive and informative presentation on women and heart disease. The overflowing sold out audience responded with a thunderous and long applause. They really gave her a warm reception. I took great consolation in knowing that the health of my heart is in her care. Her professional medical peers, hospital staff and other employees and volunteers at the hospitals, and most importantly her patients, hold Dr. McKenzie in high esteem. Many of them have spoken with me and share my same opinions. They all think the world of her. She is a doctor devoted with a passion for her profession; and, she treats her patients with genuine compassion. Her greetings are always accompanied with a big smile for she is by her very nature a friendly and affable person. The office staff is very kind and helpful to me, a very fine staff indeed. Appointments, including all follow ups, are scheduled in a timely and convenient manner. Twice I was seen as an unexpected walk-in; and, I was well taken care of by the doctor and her staff with little or no waiting time. Need I say more? Yes! We are very fortunate to have this gem of a doctor practicing here in the Greater Athens Area!

I recently had major surgery and had been recovering for several months, and being a young guy figured I would eventually start to feel better and things would get back to normal. As time went on I realized that may not happen, I ran in to Dr McKenzie and she asked me to come by and see her at the office. It was the best decison I have made in years, the staff was great and she has taken a personal interest in how I feel week to week and I am lucky to have such an excelelnt Dr. close by! My neihgbors now use her, clients are staring to use her and they have all been very impressed.

We moved to area last fall . I have several health issues that made finding a new physician imperative. Dr.Mckenzie was recommended by several of her peers. I have never had a Doctor spend as much time with me nor been so thorough. Her staff is efficient, kind and helpful. I have sent some of my friends to her and would take any member my family to This DOCTOR! This 5 star rating just isn't high enough!

My wife is a patient of Dr. McKenzie's. She has lots of health problems and is so thankful to have become one of Dr. McKenzie's patients. So much so that I am seeing her as my doctor too. Our health has improved and we couldn't be happier. I tell my friends and family they should be lucky to have someone like Dr. McKenzie as their doctor. Thank you Dr. McKenzie!!! We love you!!!

Don't spend a dime here!

New patient self pay, I paid 150.00 for the Dr. which wound up changing all of my meds and failed to follow through with blood work information. 1 of my new scripts now costs $210.00. I called in to "leave a message" for the Dr. to call me. No answer, I left a message on their machine.

Couple hours later, I call back, and ask to leave a message for the Dr. to call me back and let's talk about all of this, as I am still in pain, and have not had anything to take for a week. She insisted I run everything through her. As I was trying to describe why I needed to talk to the doctor, the office manager offered, "are you through"? I was so through!.

The office manager was nasty and rude and refused to leave a message for the Dr. until I got nasty. (still have not heard back). I plan to tell everyone I know and everyone in the community about my lousy experience with this Dr. and her office.



I revoked my permissions (re:records) and Made an appointment with another local physician!



DO NOT GO HERE. They are a miserable unhappy office staff that made me feel they were doing me a favor by seeing me @ $150.00. for my first visit.

I have never been to a doctor that took so much time to really listen to me. She is a very caring physician and I would recommend everyone to come to Dr McKenzie. Warm and friendly staff also. Very Thorough
