The Wauconda Police Department works to provide a safe and secure environment, safeguard lives and property, and preserve peace through the enforcement of local, state and federal laws. It is comprised of more than 15 full- and part-time sworn and nonsworn officers. The department operates a communication center that has a computer-aided dispatch system and provides services for police and fire departments. The Wauconda Police Department also maintains patrol, detective, records and motorcycle units. It hosts a citizens police academy that provides various opportunities to citizens to participate in the department s operations. The department supports School Resource Officer, Explorer Post, Crime Stoppers, child safety seat and bicycle helmet programs. The Wauconda Police Department also provides crime prevention and safety tips. It is located in Wauconda, Ill.
