Moving was a breeze with Barrett. No matter who I was working with from the appointment setter to the movers - they were friendly and courteous. I can see why they've been in business for over 100 years!

I was really stressed about my move. I'm so happy that I choose Barrett Moving & Storage. I was planning on doing it myself but decided that maybe a professional would help. I'm so glad that I made that decision. I was able to get settled much faster and the move was actually really easy!

I recently had a long distance move with this company. It started out well, but at our destination, I was unpleasantly surprised. The driver, who is in charge of the move, had to hire a shuttle from United to get close to my building. The mover who showed up at my apartment was accompanied by his girlfriend. He asked me if she could use my bathroom. After that, she proceeded to move my furniture with her boyfriend. Since the driver was at the truck, 11 stories down, I felt trapped. I indicated to this man where two heavy pieces of furniture needed to be placed. He then proceeded to pile up boxes in the places I wanted these pieces of furniture. When I told him he needed to put the boxes somewhere else, he lost his temper and called me a name I can't repeat here. His attitude after that was frightening. He piled boxes on top of boxes labeled fragile and crushed them. I discovered breakage of some antiques that are not replaceable. Since they did not pack them, they refuse to offer any settlement. After the move was done and the driver came to my apartment, he noted the damages and when I told him about this mover, he apologized to me. He told me that he saw the mover's girlfriend and asked what she was doing there, but that she just followed her boyfriend to the elevator. He said he would have sent the other mover up to do my move, but that he was afraid to leave this mover near the truck fearing my belongings would disappear! Further, after I complained to this company, the driver, probably trying to save himself from being fired, told his office that none of this happened. To date they have not repaired all of the items they are responsible for.

Beware of companies that belong to the BBB in Wisconsin! I filed a complaint with the BBB and have never heard back from them. Apparently they don't want to lose their members!
