This is the worst place to rent from. I moved in and the refrigerator died and they never replaced my food plus it took them 3 wks to give me another refrigerator so I purchase one on my own. They never return my calls and the people they hire, come and go so they are constantly hiring. I moved out and they gave my security deposit to the owner of the condo I was renting instead of returning it back to me. They said the owner have to send it to me. I never net the owner, she lives in Florida and I can't contact her because they refuse to give me her telephone number. I should've had my deposit returned to me in 21 days, now they are telling me the owner will return it to me. I plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and filing a complaint. This management company is a RIP OFF. My son had a seizure and put a whole in the wall and they charged me $135.00 to come fix it, but yet, they never sent an invoice of how much I owe or when it has to be paid. Please rent from someone else. This company needs to be shut down, immediately.

We apologize for the bad experience you had with Real Property Management. In reviewing our records, we received notice that your freezer was not working on 12/2/15. On 12/3/15 a request for a quote for a new refrigerator was created. Please note that this was the next day. Being a Property Management Company, we are not authorized to make large purchases without prior authorization from the property Owner. The refrigerator was purchased on 12/4/15 and the delivery team at the store called to schedule your delivery. Unfortunately, this was shortly after Black Friday and they were booked out further than you wanted to wait, so you decided to purchase your own. We then proceeded to cancel the order. The unit you rented is now for sale. Therefore, the Owner terminated their contract with Real Property Management. It was not possible for Real Property Management to complete the Security Deposit Transmittal as we are unaware of actual charges for any damages, if any. The Owner was notified of their responsibility and its importance. You are correct that we are continually hiring. However, not due to the loss of people, rather our growth. We pride ourselves on our ability to place our employees in positions best suited to their skill set. Sometimes this results in a change of Property Manager. Our Clients (Owners) hire us to manage their properties; therefore, it is our policy to never give tenants the Owners information. Our Clients sincerely appreciate this policy. It is unfortunate that a family member had a medical emergency and caused damage to the unit. A medical emergency does not; however, eliminate the necessity to repair the damage and pass that cost along to the tenant. The charge was not excessive due to the size of the hole in the wall. The charge was added to the Tenant Ledger, which is common practice in Property Management. Real Property Management is an ethical and outstanding property management company that takes on the hefty task of balancing the needs of both the Property Owner and Tenant. We have not, nor will not, unfairly withhold or charge any Tenant or Owner for anything not allowable by Wisconsin Statute Chapter 701 and Chapter ATCP 134 Residential Rental Practices.

As owners (and confirmed by our tenants) we have had no good experience with this company (rpm greater milwaukee area situated in Waukeshaw). Whatever looked and sounded promising, professional and great BEFORE we signed a 1yr contract turned into the opposite experience AFTER signing. It looks like this company is out for their own good only. The bookkeeping is slow and minimal - no break down of costs and expenses at all. For a short review we won't go into details - the list would be too long.

We are deeply disappointed that this former client feels that her experience was less than positive, especially since our track record is very positive. The former client's evaluation is uncharacteristic of our performance record. We do however take all feedback seriously. We evaluate all feedback in a manner that will help us to improve and to grow as individuals as well as a company. As with most industries, residential property management has undergone an enormous transformation from the “mom and pop” management approach to a much more business-like approach. Infrastructure, processes, procedures, business models are all created to be more efficient and to align with a technological world. Old systems and new systems don’t always align or integrate easily, or at all. However with willingness to let go, to move forward and to adjust, it is possible. Maybe not easy, but certainly not painful. We’ve all heard the horror stories related to land lording. The reality is that any time people deal with people, there will be stories, differing opinions, negative approaches to problem solving, and positive approaches to problem solving. People make property management a very interesting industry: tenants, owners, investors, vendors, contractors, inspectors, etc. There are the career tenants, the first timers, the soft spoken, the bullies, the happy, the angry, the micro-managing attitudes, the laissez faire attitudes, etc. Our staff, wonderful people, deal with all of this and more on a daily basis. Their focus in every interaction is respect, landlord tenant law, best business practices, and doing right. Despite our most sincere efforts, we can’t satisfy all people, all of the time. With regard to “bookkeeping”, all bills are entered when received or within days of completion and as stated up front, an owner statement is provided for each check run, 3 times per month, plus a monthly statement. All income and expenses are detailed on each owner statement published.

I have been using RPM for a few years and love the service. We interviewed a few different property managers and my husband and I had gut reactions of trust towards RPM. Over time that hasn't changed. They have great prices on fees (there is NO $495 finders fee as mentioned in another review) and maintenance charges, and if they don't think they can be competitive on a fix, they let me look into it myself (I did that for some trim maintenance). Payments are prompt. Since I live 2,500 miles away from my property, I love knowing that it's in good hands. My tenants seem delighted, too, as they plan to stay long-term. I don't give my property a thought except once per month when the bank deposit is made. Highly recommended.

From a tenant standpoint, RPM seemed to really go about a problem they had with my equipment the wrong way. They took minimal effort to help find solutions to the problem and sent a five day vacate notice with as little as one conversation that I wasn't even involved with. Aside from that, their upkeep on maintenance for the unit of the apartment building I live in has been little to none. If you go with RPM, you will have quite unhappy tenants. The only decent person was the owner of this apartment building.

Adam, I am sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience. We have a separate, fully staffed maintenance department that takes maintenance issues seriously to ensure property owner and tenant satisfaction. We complete all necessary repairs in a timely manner within our contractual agreement with the property owner. There are certain maintenance situations that need property owner approval prior to proceeding, which is not always easy to get. In searching our tenant database, your name does not come up. There are multiple RPM offices in the area which are independently owned and operated so please be sure you are contacting and referencing the correct office. (Our office is located in Waukesha.) If you still have any maintenance issues, please contact your property manager and they will be happy to help you.

Real Property Management was p...

Real Property Management was professional at the start. They came out to look at my property and took photos and told me that my property would be up for review by prospects within 48 hours. I did not see my property up for review for at least 2 weeks. They also charge a fee of $495 for marketing and administrative costs, however all of the sites that the company used were sites that were free to use and ones that are not typically the first (if ever) to be looked at by individuals looking for rental property. The initial fee is ridiculously expensive for the lack and limited marketing this company uses. They also state that they are going to give weekly updates of the status of the property (an idea as to how many people have made inquires etc) and in the two months I've had my property up for rent, I have been emailed twice regarding updates and those two times were only after I had requested the information.They also state that they will work to get the property rented within a few days or weeks and they still have yet to rent the property. The price that the place is marketed at is reasonable for the area and the type of property according to the individual from RPM that came out for our initial conversation, however they have made NO progress on getting the place rented. Overall, I would not recommend this company as a property management company as their fees are high for the lack of work they have done to get the property rented.
