Also know that they try to get you to pay for carpet cleaning when you move out by having you initial a statement on the lease that you agree to clean the carpet when you move. Be aware that this is against the law to make you clean carpet for normal wear. We had to file a complaint with the WI Dept of trade & consumer protection to get the carpet cleaning money refunded. Also make sure you document everything and send repair requests in writing because they do not document when something needs fixing and they tried to hold us liable for that as well. Other than that the apartment was nice and yes it was very warm upstairs! Big apartments over stairway are nice and roomy but you hear everyone that goes in and out and that includes the middle of the night.

If you are desperate then just make sure you are prepared to fight for every little and or major problem that you need fixed! After ONE call for a problem, you will be made to feel like you are a HUGE bother. Let's put it this way..... The landlord is not going to make ANY necessary changes or fix too many necessary problems unless you call CONTINUOSLY!!! I would tell my best friend to DEFINATELY look at other places to rent first. The parking is a problem, the laundry facilities are a problem, there is no security, the doors have no peep holes, the windows are incredibly drafty and the free heat is a joke!! The floor is freezing on the lower level and the upper level is like a heat wave that the only way to control it is to leave the windows open about 3 inches ALL WINTER LONG!!!! That shoud keep it a toasty 75 degrees for you! I have seen a person clean the hallway and laundry room 3 times this year.....I AM HERE 24/7 and you can hear EVERYTHING! Of course it looks just like it has been cleaned 3 times this year.....OH did I forget to mention that they tell you that the ON-SITE MGR. is suppose to clean the Hallways and laundry area ONCE A WEEK!?!?!?! ...yeah, it doesn't pay to complain to management either. . . .it falls on deaf ears. . . .
