Provided by YP.comThe atmosphere and food are wonderful, but the best part about Catfish Plantation is Heather, sometimes a hostess and other times a waitress but always a professional. She is the nicest and most knowledgeable person there! We love her, especially when she is waitressing. We never have to ask for anything twice and she always gets our order right the first time. It seems like our beverage never gets below half full and then she's there refilling it, even on their busiest nights. It makes for a wonderful experience because the food and atmosphere is very good, if a little pricey - but definitely worth the extra money to get super fast and super efficient service, always with a smile and a kind word or two. i would definitely recommend this as the premier seafood/country cooking restaurant in Waxahachie. And, remember to ask only for Heather! You will NOT be disappointed.

Provided by YP.comMe my husband and our two teenage daughters ( who are very picky eaters) decided to go there for dinner, we did not know what to expect and when we got there we all automatically loved the atmosphere and during our short wait for a table read about the history (the hauntings) which makes for great conversation. Then came time for the food my girls at first was not satisfied with the choices they had made (some chicken dish) however my husband ordered the chicken fried steak and after the girls tried it he had to share with both of them so we definetly recommend trying it and be prepared for large portions ITS GREAT! we also had the fried ice cream for dessert it was also GREAT!! we are looking forward to going back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The staff was very friendly and we really had a Great family dinner!!!

Provided by YP.comWe were on the seating list and waited patiently being next on the list when a couple with a young child walked in, put their name on the list and sat down. A man appearing to be the manager or owner came to the waiting room, shook the gentleman's hand and even looked at the waiting list to see where their name was on the list. The manager/owner went back to the dining area only to return grabbing two menus and informed my husband and I that there was a small table for two if we would be okay with that. My husband replied "that would be fine" and we followed the man to our anticipated table. He was correct by saying it was small....and it wasn't long before we realized I wouldn't be able to even sit down...even if we moved the table. We looked at each other and said "no, we'll wait for another table." We were making our way beck to the waiting area only to see the manager/owner directing his friends to a table. We walked out...and don't plan to go back. Looking back on the scenerio, it didn't take an idiot to know that he wanted to seat his friends and that was his only goal. The hostess looked down during the incident like she was aware we were being railroaded. I have 15 years of waitress experience and this is the only time I have walked. I believe the couple was from out-of-town, we are not. We probably eat out more than most. He made a big mistake with his customer service, or lack of.
