Provided by YP.comThe worst experience for my mother ever. She fell twice, poorly supervised patients, and not enough staff per individual. I had done several pop in's and was astounded to find my mother neglected and crying while a caregiveer was trying to take care of another perosn, then she sequestered my mother in the bathroom trying to get her to stop crying. do you realize in this home you could not even help your own mother. these people are the worst.

Provided by YP.comThank you so much for all you are doing to help our mom fit in to your amazing facility! I have to tell you that when Tina and I left after our first visit with you, I wanted to cry, because I felt like we had finally found a place where Mom would be treated like a human being and not just a number and an inconvenience.
We hope and pray to find an answer to these recent outbursts so that Mom can settle in and become a happy member of your little family there at Arcadia.
It's really hard for those of us who live so far away and it makes us feel so helpless. It eases our minds tremendously just knowing Mom is someplace where people truly care about her.
Thank you again,
KC

Provided by YP.comI wanted to write and let you know that I am so thankful that I found Arcadia Care Home for my dad. My
Dad got sick January 2010 and was diagnosed with dementia along with some other care needs. I work full
time and have 2 children. There was no way Dad could stay home by himself and I could not afford to quit
my job to take care of Dad. This is when my prayers were answered and Arcadia Care home came along in
to the picture.
I went out March 2010 and the minute I walked up the front door, I felt the "home" feeling that would fit my
Dad's needs. Arcadia is a HOME and not a large understaffed facility. A home like you and I live in, not a
place that smells like a nursing home. The owners, Miguel and Karen were very welcoming to us and answered all my questions about the care of my Dad. I went back a second time on a last minute notice and brought my Dad with me. My dad is very picky and when he toured Arcadia, he told me that this was the place for him. There was a feeling he had that this is where he needed to be to get the care he required on a daily basis. I can honestly say I can go to sleep at night and not worry one bit about my dad.
My Dad moved in April 2010 and is still living at Arcadia. Although my dad would love to go back to his "home", he is happy living at Arcadia. He loves Karen, Miguel and the staff. There isn't a time I don't hear him tell me how much he thinks of Karen, Miguel and the staff and how they take such good care of him. They keep him busy with daily activities and exercises instead of putting him in a hard, cold wheelchair and pushing him into a huge room to sit daily. Everyone there socializes and no one is treated like the patients in a huge facility.
I am so thankful for Karen and Miguel. They have gone out of their way to help me get Dad to doctor's visits or pick up medicine when I can't be there for Dad. You will not get this kind of treatment anywhere else. They treat Dad like one of their family. "Family", that is a good word to describe the whole house at Arcadia.
Anyone that is going through the hard time of finding a loving, caring and experienced placed for their loved one should come by and tour Arcadia Care Home in Waxhaw, NC. I can guarantee you that you will walk into the house and get the same caring feeling that I had when I first walked into there and still feel to this day. I don't know where or what I would do if I didn't have Arcadia to take care of Dad. I honestly think my Dad would be in a depressed state if I had to put him in a large facility. He gets the personal care he needs from Arcadia and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Sincerely,
Pamela W.

I can HIGHLY recommend this facility for anyone in need of elder care for their loved ones. My daddy spent his last few months of life at this place and they far exceeded anything and everything we thought they would be! Thanks Karen and Miguel! I love you guys and will always consider you a part of my family. ♥

Provided by YP.comIt has been nearly two years since my dad, Wendell Atkin, moved into Arcadia Care Home. We remember well the process of searching and deciding. Finding you proved to be the end of our search. We did not need to look any farther.
Your vision for providing your six residents with a home and a family is, to our knowledge, one of a kind. Your tender and personalized care that makes each one so special is beyond our highest dream. The pain of making the tough decision to place Dad where he would be safe was eased significantly as we watched him settle in and become content in the first day. Amazing!
And, it’s still amazing to us after almost two years. He has not had one complaint. Nor have we. Thank you for showing such honor and preserving the dignity of these senior citizens. Thanks to those who help you as staff for playing games, exercising, and keeping their minds so active.
Thank you for loving them.
We love you!

Provided by YP.comI would tell my best friend not to go here, they are severely understaffed, hot meals is pizza from an oven, good dog and pony show in the beginning. try going unannounced and see what really goes on.

Provided by YP.comA HUGE thank you for all the love and care my Aunt receives at Arcadia Care Home! You guys are the best! My mom's friend said residential care homes are the way to go and if this is any indication of the care to be found there, we have found gold! My aunt is happier than she has been in YEARS! Really good quality care that is personalized specifically for my aunt. My aunt feels right at home and it has helped her entire being!! I cannot say enough about the owners and the staff! They are top notch!!
