Public image is known for their trendy setting and expert stylists. I will say the trendy setting is there but the expert stylist are another story. This is not my normal salon, but my stylist was not available as she is very booked. I had an event to attend and could not wait so I made the decision to allow public image to highlight my hair. I am a professional makeup artist and my image is very important to me. I highly understand the procedure and know the process of hair lightening so I was able to give my stylist an accurate and technical description of exactly what I was looking for. My hair had previously been highlighted and toned so the stylist did not have to start from scratch. All I had asked for was that I was toned with more ash then gold. End result was over processing and breakage due to lightener left on my hair far too long. As well as streaks of grey accompanied by a green cast throughout my entire head. This service not only made me very unhappy but also total upwards of $200! I had called and explained that I needed it to be fixed as I had my event the next night. I returned for my hair to be toned as it should have been from the beginning and also picked up the bill for it to be "fixed". My stylist warned me at this time that if it didn't take then there was nothing that could be done because I had been lifted so light (which was her mistake from the beginning.) When the toner did not work as suspected (my hair was still grey) I had left unhappy and with my hair wet because my stylist was leaving for the day. I had called the next morning to inform them that the toner did not take and instead of offering to fix it immediately they had explained that I would have to return the following week at their convience and at my expense. I was speaking with the owner/manager and instead of appologizing for the stylists mistakes he made it sound like I didn't know what I was talking about, that the stylist had told him I walked in asking for my hair to be died grey and I should know grey is in, being I am a professional makeup artist. He then continued to insult my intelligence and proceeded to not listen to my concerns instead of fix the situation. I have been in the industry for years and worked in a salon for many and know that the most important aspect of the salon is the customer service in which this case was absolutely poor. I am a Creative Director for 4 cosmetology schools in NJ and the salon knew this, bad business mistake. I am in touch with hundreds of cosmetology students and will make it noted that this is how Public Image runs their salon.  What should have been done was an apology for the service, accommodation for me,  and if not then a refund of the cost. I then had to immediately have my hair fixed that night by my normal stylist (who could fix it unlike public image)  but then again paid more to be fixed from their mistake. In conclusion I am still waiting for my refund$250 

and would recommend everyone to drive half mile down the road take the u-turn and go to The Gallery A Salon in Wayne where there is amazing customer service and 

PROFESSIONAL stylists!
