Two friends and I were visiting Waynesville, NC. We decided we wanted Barbecue. My GPS guided us to Haywood Smokehouse Restaurant. I am from Kansas City, the Barbecue capitol of the world. I have never liked barbecue from any other area and have never liked my ribs rubbed. The ribs Joe smoked for us were the BEST I have ever tasted! They were tender, lean, juicy and had a wonderful flavor! If we wanted sauce there were 3 types we could add. The baked beans were great. The potato salad was to die for! We finished up with pecan pie, vanilla banana pudding and carrot cake. Everything was so good we could not resist coming back the next day for lunch! Look out Kansas City if Joe ever decides to come to the American Royal to compete in the barbecue contest he's going to give you a run for your money!
