Terrible company. Greg Lewis who owns this company never called us back when we began to have problems. Gives a 2 year written warranty however will not return phone calls or repair substandard equipment and installation. We had 2 station leaks within the first month (1500.00 water bill). The reason was that the joints were not even cemented together. A representative from Hunter came out and said that the "preferred" status with them comes from buying a certain dollar amount of equipment. We did not receive any part of our system that was Hunter. Hunter rep came out and looked at the system and said the stations were not overlapping properly in addition to using PVC that was too thin. When using a pipe cutter to repair it just crushes the pvc instead of cutting. I am filing a complaint with TCEQ. Beware, very poor business practices.

If I could give a negative rating I would. System installed in spring 2013, with a 2 year written warranty. The first month we had 2 station leads (1500.00 water bill). No response at all from Greg Lewis when called for repairs. There have been several more leaks all due to NO CEMENT at all on connections. Hunter rep came out as they were a "preferred" company for them. We found out this comes from the amount of supplies purchased. Hunter rep gave us a year discount to one of their locations for the numerous repairs that were needed and also stated the PVC used was not acceptable grade. We still have many problems and never received a schematic of the system. If I had not been available to take pictures, at the time of installation it would have been even worse. If it could have gotten any worse. Filing a complaint with TCEQ and feel confident they will have their license rescinded with the documentation I have. Do not use them!

Irrigation System Installation

If I could give Greg Lewis and Cross Timbers Irrigation (License# 11757) 0 stars, that's what I would give them. We had an irrigation system installed in May of this year (2013). As of today, September 26, we have already had to repair 3 leaks. 2 were at stations and one was a broken nipple for a sprinkler attachment. The first station was because the pipes were not cemented properly and the second was because his employees patched a broken T with pipe cement instead of replacing it. The system was to have a 2 year "workmanship guarantee" and Mr. Lewis has not even bothered to return our calls. 'Being a "Preferred Hunter Contractor", there was also a 5 year factory guarantee on parts. This is a problem because not one single sprinkler head or station installed was Hunter Brand. We called Hunter and they sent a representative to our home to inspect the irrigations system. The representative concluded that it was not installed correctly as there were not enough sprinkler heads installed to overlap and the wrong type of sprayer head were used in another area. Since we already had shrubs, it was suggested that a drip line be installed in the flower beds. They were to be secured with stakes and covered with mulch. This was fine except after they left the lines were literally "draped" across my shrubs, laying about a foot onto our driveway, not secured and not covered. In addition Mr. Lewis never provided us a schematic of the system, which is required by the TCEQ. Thankfully, I took many pictures. To add to all the above issues we have an underground pet containment system. It is a wire that runs the perimeter of our yard. This was marked with flagging prior to them beginning the job. It was broken 10 times and I repeatedly asked them to not cover any ditches until all the breaks had been detected and fixed. In the end most of the ditches had already been covered and I spent almost a whole day repairing the dog fence. (At my cost). We are filing a complaint with the TCEQ. In addition we have learned that being a "Hunter Preferred Contractor" is based on the amount of supplies purchase. They are no longer in good standing with Hunter for other unspecified reasons. This is an honest review and I would have paid twice as much for the system if we could have forgone all the issues we have had. Our water bill alone from leaks would have already offset that cost. Whatever you do, don't use this company.

After spending $2K in Sept 2012, I ended up with a yard that looks like moles invaded it and pipes leaking underground in numerous places. Greg left a crew of workers for the day who dug up my yard and replaced my original working sprinkler control box with 2 mismatched ones and left no programming or station location instructions to operate it. After numerous in returned calls and emails, Mr. Lewis has fallen off the face of the earth. No telling how much his expertise will cost to repair.

Greg Lewis was on top of his game. From the initial contact to the follow ups a few weeks after installation, he was very responsive. We rescheduled a few different times due to weather, but he promptly rescheduled each time without having to be contacted. He and his crew arrived on time and completed the whole job in one day. (corner lot approx .2 acres in size) He engineered the system to cover the entire yard using fewer stations than I expected with an easy to use and easy to program Hunter system and did so at a price that didn't make my stomach hurt. I was very impressed with his professionalism, work, and value for the system and would recommend him to anyone. Use him, you won't be sorry. P.S. I am located in far East Fort Worth, just South of the North East Mall in Hurst. Don't let the Weatherford address steer you away from contacting him to see if he can service your area.
